Steeped in Tradition
The historical Boggs Academy, founded in 1906, was a preparatory boarding school for young African Americans in the United States. Owned and operated by the Presbyterian Church USA until 1984, when public schools began desegregation, Boggs Academy played a vital role in the intellectual and spiritual development of its students for nearly 80 years.
Today, the center honors this legacy, preserving the collective memory of Boggs Academy while fostering a sense of unity and progress within the community.
We are building a thriving future for Boggs Rural Life Center and the community we serve
